Huludao is known as the “first city outside the Great Wall”. It is located in the southwest of Liaoning Province, bordering the Liaodong Bay of the Bohai Sea to the south and Shanhaiguan to the west. It is the western gate to the northeast. Yuan Chonghuan, a famous anti-Qing general in the late Ming Dynasty, once stationed in Ningyuan Weicheng (Xingcheng) and repeatedly defeated the Qing army. It was an important border defense area of the Ming Dynasty.
1. Xingcheng Beach
Xingcheng Beach is known as the “Second Beidaihe”. The scenery here is no different from that of other coastal cities, with sea, sunshine and beaches. What is more special is the Xingcheng Sea Festival in July every year, which is on a grand scale.

The best time to visit Xingcheng Beach is from May to October, when you can go swimming in the sea and it is also the time when seafood production is the most abundant.
2. Xingcheng Ancient City
Xingcheng Ancient City is one of the four best-preserved ancient cities in my country. It is the place where Nurhaci, the first emperor of the Qing Dynasty, was hit by the Red Cannon during the Ningyuan Campaign. The most standard way to visit the ancient city is to walk around the city wall and look at the ancient city from afar. The west gate of the ancient city is called Yongning, which is a road that often appears in film and television dramas and is the most distinctive.
3. Juehua Island
Juehua Island, commonly known as Chrysanthemum Island and Dahaishan, is the largest island in the Bohai Bay and is named after the wild chrysanthemums that bloom on the island. There are also many beautiful beaches around the island.

4. Jiumenkou Great Wall
Jiumenkou Great Wall is located in Suizhong County, Liaoning Province, 15 kilometers away from Shanhaiguan. It is 1,704 meters long and is known as the “Water Great Wall”. It is an important pass of the Ming Great Wall. There are winding rivers, steep mountains and rivers, and unique buildings. On the Jiujiang River, which is more than 100 meters wide, 7,000 square meters of riverbed are paved with stone strips. From a distance, it looks like a stone pass, so Jiumenkou is also called “a piece of stone”.
5. Dragon Turns Back
Longhuitou has beautiful scenery, surrounded by mountains and the sea. From here, you can clearly see the Huludao Beach. When the weather is clear, the sea and the sky complement each other, and you can also see Lighthouse Hill and Chrysanthemum Island.
6. Dongdaihe
Dongdaihe includes many coastal villages, historical sites and beaches. There is a large beach and beautiful sea views. Since it was developed relatively late, it still retains its original coastal scenery. Zhimao Bay is the most famous beach here, with a gentle beach and no reefs, and the sand is also very good. The seafood in the nearby farmhouse is very cheap and fresh.
